Computer Software
Computer software, or simply software is any set of machine-readable instructions that directs a computer's processor to perform specific operations. Computer software contrasts with computer hardware.
Computer software includes computer programs, libraries and their associated documentation. The word software is also sometimes used in a more narrow sense, meaning application software only. Software is stored in computer memory and is intangible.

Types of Computer Software
- Application Software is the general designation of computer programs for performing user tasks. Application software may be general purpose (word processing, web browsers etc.) or have a specific purpose (accounting). Application software contrast with system software.
- System Software is a generic term referring to the computer programs used to start and run computer systems and networks.
- Computer Programming tools, such as compilers and links, are used to translate and combine computer program source code and libraries into executable RAMs (programs that will belong to one of the three said categories).
